The only way to get to Thassos is coastal, via the Kavala
or Keramoti ports. From Kavala, you may either take a
ferry boat, or a flying dolphin. Travel times are 75 and
35 minutes respectively. In both, the destination is Limemas,
the Thassos capital.
From Keramoti, you may take a ferry boat to Limenas,
which will last 35 minutes.
The nearest airport is at Chrispoupoli, Kavala (KVA),
which is 7 km away from Keramoti. You can go from the airport to Keramoti by taxi.
The next nearest airport is at Thesssaloniki (SKG),
which is larger and has flights for all over the world. From the airport
of Thessaloniki you can get to Thassos by:
a). Taxi. A journey to Keramoti will last around 2 hours
and cost you approximately 100 Euro.
b). Bus. You can get a bus to either Kavala or Keramoti
by the Thessaloniki intercity bus terminal, which is near the railway station.
Approximate cost is 15 Euro.
c). Car. You can rent a car from the airport
(approximate cost 25 Euro ) that you can also use during your stay to
explore Thassos.
In the summer period all major airlines organise extra
charter flight to Greece. You can get a better price for your ticket if you book early.
